NY1: Queens Person of the WeekVictor Calise is an inspirational coach that has made it possible for all kids to hit the ice without any limitations. In 1994, a mountain bike accident left the Ozone Park native paralyzed from the chest down, but it didn't slow him down. In 1998, he traveled to Japan as a member of the paralympic sled hockey team and he hasn't looked back since.
Now, he’s teaching kids with disabilities they can still play hockey. For inspiring the sled rangers to go for the goal and teaching young people that there are no limitations in life, Victor Calise is NY’s Queens Person of the Week. |
