Breakaway 2018 with Special Guests Adam Graves and Mike Richter
Februrary 6th, 2018
Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park
The night was cold, but clear in NYC, and the Sled Rangers skated in the rink at Bryant Park, surrounded by more than 400 family, friends, and supporters. The mutual admiration between Rangers’ legends Mike Richter and Adam Graves and the sled hockey athletes was palpable, and everyone celebrated the fun these hockey players enjoy, as well as the success of the New York Sled Rangers program!
We had 30 of our athletes present at the event, and we raised over $175,000 to support the program. That sounds like a lot of money, and it is, but we will will need it to fund all the great activities and sled hockey events that we are doing between now and 2020. Our Special Guests Adam Graves and Mike Richter joined in the fun, and were more than generous with their time, shaking hands and taking photos with team members and fans alike. The top video was shown at the event, and was made (again) by our very good friend Joe Quint. This is an outstanding piece of work that really shows what we are doing, and what it means to the kids and their families to be able to play sled hockey. The second video is a recap video showing some great shots of the evening. The photos and this video were created by Matt Petosa. Finally, there is a link to more photos from the event. Below, we have a link to the event journal, which was again created by Brian Albert. Brian really puts together an amazing book and we are so proud of that work. Please take a look if you havent already. We would also like to thank our corporate sponsors, which are also shown below. Finally, also thank you to our fabulous MC, Ezra Knight for coming out and kindly donating his time and to our ubiquitous photographer, Matt Petosa. |
